Final Build Ihan, Kassia, SilverSoul, Korhal, Spell Buffer, Chilling, Sell Ihan for Organic
If your allies picked up Spell Buffer, Korhal or Chilling and you need an additional item: Nitrogen Retrofit (Slow+Life+Intel); or Symphonic Seed (CDR speed up, should assist your kills)
4) Notes on gameplay.
Erekul is a strange type of Tank / Caster. He needs tank talents and items because to be effective he needs to get in close and take a beating. But he is also predominantly a caster (without energy, he isn't really tanky).
This is because his 2 talents synergize with each other. Q (Swarm Burst) fires eels that damage anyone close to you and heal any allies near you (including yourself). The E talent (Masochist) naturally increases your physical resistance (Tankyness) but also when people attack you, it lowers your CD's. This is a very interesting skill. You should realize that if you were to run into an enemy creep wave, and basically get beat on by all the creeps, you can almost constantly cast your Q until everything is dead. This costs energy, but basically keeps you full life and damages everything. If you find yourself in a position whereby a hero is close by, feel free to target the hero. Having the creeps all attack you after is actually a GOOD thing for Erekul. It allows you to spam the Q spell. This makes you "surprisingly" tanky, but also massively increases your damage output to the enemy. This is sort of the "surprise" of this hero. If you are tanky enough.. you also are increasing your Damage output.
The key to this hero is to get yourself surrounded and beat on near (1 or 2 enemy heroes… not more than that). And then spam your spells to lower their life. The ultimate on Erekul is also very nice. It is a "finisher" kills people based on how low their life is. Lower they are, more damage it does. Lower people with your Q's and finish them off with the ultimate. This can be amazingly effective, likely making your opponent say… Holy crap what happened. The ultimate also has a stun in it, so if you hit heroes just below half health u can stun them for your partners to kill. This should be done if you think stunning the opponent will allow your hero to kill it. Don't just wait to try and get the kills yourself, or your team could lose the game overall.
One last point. As for many of the tanks in these guides, I do Goggles, Treasure first. This is to power money for mid game. You are weaker with these builds in first 10 min, and should realize until you get the buckler, you could die easier than expected. Take caution early, mid game will rule for this hero.
